this is how democracy works… I hold you accountable. are you calling me old? You’re Mr. Harper’s best friend! Gilles Duceppe as prime minister of Canada? certainly not! This isn't bickering, Mr. Harper, it's democracy," Ignatieff points out. Now that was a good line. #db8 Mr. Harper: You’re a man who will shut down anything he cannot control. It’s hostile to the values on which this country is based. #db8 Best #debate line so far: #Layton to #Harper, "You've changed" Harper is like a robot--he has no passion. The others might be a little too animated at times, but at least we know they have a pulse. #deb8

Umm, Castle anyone?
Tonight. Knockdown
RC-"When I saw the blood, I thought it was you."
--- Beckett changes subject--- -.-
RC- "Are Ryan and Esposito alright?"
KB-"oh ya, just mild hypothemia and wounded pride. I wonder which one will heal first."
KB-"Thanks for having my back there."
RC-"Always."
KB-"I'm open to dumb ideas here."
RC-"Good, because I've got one"
Martha to Castle (I loved this scene)
"What do you mean where is this coming from? I feel the same for you as you feel for Alexis."
"God knows you've gotten by on your wit and charm and no small amount of talent, but you can't charm a bullet out of its path."
Castle- "It's not just about the books anymore."
Yes, Castle said it. He admitted, I'll be it indirectly, that he's not in this for inspiration or because of his morbid desires ("ooh, a murder!"). He keeps going back for Beckett. To solve her mother's murder, to be her partner, to save her life. And yet, when it came time for him to tell Beckett why he wouldn't quit when she questioned him, he held back. WTH is up with that?- Richard Castle never holds up!- except when it comes to Beckett, of course.
With tonight's development as proof of progress in their ever-evolving relationship (now in the right direction in my mind- FINALLY), will they or won't they?
Regarding Ryan and Esposito, I had no real fear for their well-being, but I did like to see their relationship and the distress shown on Esposito's face when he realizd he was causing Ryan's pain.
A good moment that wasn't Castle-Beckett or Castle-Martha for me was when the witness to the mob murder told Beckett she looked just like her mother.

Considering Women's roles in Harry Potter
http://atheism.about.com/od/harrypotter/i/women_2.htm
Apparently, a much debated subject regarding the Harry Potter series is the portrayal of women. I was unaware of this negative criticism of Rowling's portrayal, as I have found the female characters to be fairly portrayed in a manner that in no way introduced inferiority to the male characters. Understandably, though, some have identified issues with the domesticity of the mothers in the book such as Mrs. Weasley or Aunt Petunia. As well, I read about how characters who were obviously head strong, such as Hermione, never really take the lead for themselves, but instead follow along and then take action when the situation necessitated it. To me, these are just inevitable cases among the many aspects of portraying female characters in the series that adhere to the stereotypes.

Founder's Day Season Finale
Let’s start with the ending, because it’s the only real thing on my mind right now. Katherine definitely doesn’t like Uncle John (I didn’t like him for a long time either). And she still likes (loves?) Damon. (although she may just trying to wreak havoc on Elena’s life). Here are the things I definitely didn’t like about the last few scenes:
- John revealed the truth to who he thought was his daughter and now that Katherine’s killed him, Elena can’t hear it first hand. I think Elena would have wanted to hear even though she hated him until she found out he was her father, because I would have.
- Damon thinks that she’s gone against her promise of love to Stefan, does not even realize it’s Katherine, who he’s been searching out for the past 100 years!
- Anna was killed, but I didn’t expect any better
- Caroline was left in limbo and Matt was upset
- Jeremy tried to kill himself via drug overdose to turn, his future was uncertain too

Stanley Cup Finals
Highlights:
- guys that couldn't talk because they were missing teeth made me lol
- Troy B. talking to his dad via the TV made me tear up
- a first I laughed when the fans in Philadelphia booed Bettman, but then I was upset when they booed Toews! not cool. not cool.
- the Con Smythe trophy being awarded to the best of the best
- Toews saying it was destiny that he was there as a Stanley Cup winner thanks to childhood picture
- Patrick Kane's mullet working for him
- Kane's goal being similar to Crosby's at the Olympics. Kane won this time but lost last time due to similar goal
- Don Cherry calling Pronger classy. umm... what??
- Hossa finally winning after 2 consecutive tries in the finals on different teams. I guess the third time's a charm!
- Stan Bowman being named after the cup
- Joel Quenneville's awesome moustache
- Chicago's drought was finally ended!!!
- felt so bad for poor Mike Richards while you oculd hear Chicago celebrating in the background
now they can all shave their ill-fitting playoff beards!!!
